Experience matters when you are looking for a martial arts instructor. You'll be in good hands at the Varasconi School of Self Defense. Both senseis, Tom and Bob Varasconi, have over 60 years of combined experience and have been teaching in the Bristol area since 1982.
We are the best martial arts skills in the area. We will also work around any physical limitation.

Both Varasconi brothers have been hired as security experts and body guards for a number of Hollywood stars, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Kathy Lee Gifford.
They have also stood as body guards for musical acts including, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Bad Company and many more.

- Former Top 10 Rated fighter in New England, and Nationally rated Karate fighter
- Former member of Team USA Full contact kickboxing
- Former Bodyguard To numerous celebrities and political figures
- Worked with Connecticut National Guard to train them in hand to hand combat
- training.

- Co-Owner / Instructor of Varasconi’s School of Self Defense, Hamzy Branch.
- Martial Arts Training over 49 years.
- Teaching Martial Arts since 1982.
- Bodyguard and security experience for many years.
- Certified Police Officer since 1996, now Patrol Sergeant.
- Certified Police Firearms and Rifle Instructor.
- EMT since 1998.
- CPR / AED / First Aid / Bloodborne, Airborne Pathogens Instructor.
